Good article, Ann. Emphasis is often on how to make sure your readers can easily share to their favorite social network, understandably. But scheduling shares through your own accounts is crucial too. The one tool I’d add to this list that I have loved using since it first launched is Post Promoter Pro. You should check them out too (I’m not affiliated with them, just a fan).

    • Ann Taylor

Thanks for reminding about another great plugin, Brandon! I like the scheduling thing about it, an ability to customize the posts and shorten URLs, etc. Pippin recommends it, btw 🙂 Overall, looks like it functions well. However, the prices are much higher and the policy is not that clear. There is no free version, no trial, no demo, the Refund policy link on the official site (FAQ section) doesn’t work, the cheapest plan is $59. I believe a bit more transparency and clarity will work better for plugin creators (and customers).

      • Brandon Hull

Great points. The developer probably doesn’t do a great job of marketing his plugin and it’s definitely expensive. But having used it personally for a couple years I absolutely love it. There’s also one out there called Tweet Wheel that has a free and paid version. Far less intuitive than some of the other options and limited to Twitter, but useful.

  • Very nice round-up of social media posting plugins, Ann. It’s great to see articles like yours being published as it helps end users better filter their options as to what plugin they could use to optimally post to their social media accounts.

I would like to also add SkyePress to the list as it has very useful features, such as posting when publishing new articles and scheduling articles to be posted at a later date. I am one of the developers behind it and I would like to hear your opinion on it.

    • Ann Taylor

hey Mihai! The SkyePress looks promising! I like the wise strategy of your freemium model: you give a good list of options within a free version. I’ll check it in detail and will probably add it to the post.

  • Marina

    Hello Ann Taylor,

thank you for that nice list. You might also take a look at the Blog2Social scheduling and auto-posting plugin for WP https://wordpress.org/plugins/blog2social/ . The plugin allows auto-posting as well as custom sharing and scheduling blog posts for each social network. A preview editor allows you to optionally customize your social media posts with custom posting formats, individual comments or hashtags. And you can schedule them for the best times to post on each network, for once, multiple times or recurrently.

    • Ann Taylor

hi Marina! Looks like a good alternative. Thanks for mentioning it!
